I went out to the warehouse and pulled a Camco Universal Fit RV Roof Air Conditioner Gasket Kit # CAM25071 to determine its material. While it is a foam material it is a closed cell type of foam used for applications that need leak protection.

Good question, and the answer is you do have to physically look at the hinge of your RV's vent in order to know the cover you need. There is no way to know any specific trailer parts based just off of the year, make and model of trailer.
